i'm audrey, an artist and mindfulness teacher based in the hudson valley of NY. in 2023, i began a 2-year journey toward becoming certified as a professional mindfulness teacher through the International Mindfulness Teachers Association (IMTA). i chose to do my 300-hr coursework through the Engaged Mindfulness Institute as they focus on trauma-informed training. i've now completed that coursework and i am pursuing my required practice teaching hours, the final requirement before certification.

my training has included an 8-day silent illumination retreat with Dharma Drum Retreat Center, mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR) with Dora Kamau of Headspace, and 300 hours of training in curriculum including:

  • foundations of mindfulness taught by Joseph Goldstein and Jack Kornfield
  • four immeasurables taught by Sharon Salzberg and Pema Chodron
  • the neuroscience of mindfulness and scientific foundations
  • engaged mindfulness and group facilitation with Fleet Maull
  • diversity and cultural humility
  • trauma-informed teaching
  • working with youth, additions & anxiety, first responders, corrections, unhoused populations, veterans
  • mindfulness in nature

my approach encourages liberation from screens and digitally-reliant culture in an effort toward authentic presence.
